COACH TRAINING PROGRAM
"The Coaches Institute – BIWPA’s Academy for Water Polo Coaches"
We focus on developing coaches from the ground up, providing essential training for athletes’ growth and the advancement of the sport.
Our program is fully online and divided into two courses:
- Course 1: General Technique and Tactics in Development Stages: Individual Play

Course 2: Youth Water Polo Coaching Methodology (Ages 9–14)
Courses 1 and 2 are available now, with more coming soon.
Who is it for?
Novice coaches and aspiring trainers who want a strong foundation in water polo coaching.
Requirements:
Participants must be at least 16 years old.

Coaches Behind the Program:
- Ferran Plana – Director of Methodology and assistant coach of CN Sabadell’s men’s senior team, with extensive experience in elite water polo coaching.
- Quim Colet – Co-founder and Sports Director of BIWPA, former assistant coach of the Spanish men’s national team (2008 & 2012 Olympics), and junior world champion.

Yuri Colet – Internationally experienced coach specializing in youth and high-performance water polo, with years of global coaching expertise.

Exams & Certification:
After completing each course, participants will take an exam to test their knowledge and apply what they’ve learned. Those who pass will receive an official diploma from the Coaches Institute.
